So, y'all, I am struggling. I have written the synopsis for my current work in progress, and I love the characters, even though I was sure I wouldn't. Here's where I'm struggling -- it's a reunion story. On some levels, I love that trope, just like I do a marriage-in-jeopardy. I adore when characters have history and memories and simply can't walk away from one another. In this book, the hero messed up at a crucial point in the heroine's life, and he stomped all over her greatest fears -- not being wanted for herself, not being enough, etc. She left him, made some impulsive decisions, horrible events ensued in her life. Now she's back, and said hero wants her back, but wants to give her the space she needs as well.
So, what's your take on the hero-in-pursuit versus hey-that-guy's-a-stalker? What works for you? What doesn't?
