They ambled across the still-crowded lot. Once they reached their vehicles, Pantone rubbed at her arms. “I’m glad you joined us tonight.”
“Yeah, me, too.” He couldn’t for the life of him figure why she wasn’t walking away to her car. She seemed content to stand there with him, chilly air wrapping around them.
On a light laugh, she glanced away and pulled her phone from her back pocket. “Hey, what’s your number?”
He rattled it off, her fingers flying over the screen. His phone blipped with a text, but he left it in his pocket.
“Goodnight.” With a cheeky smile and a flutter of her fingers, she walked to the driver’s side of her car. He made sure she was out of the lot and on the road before climbing behind his own steering wheel. He lifted a hip and tugged his phone out to read the text she’d sent him.
